I don't know about you, but I often find myself being suckered into smooth-talking and persuasive sales letter with the snazzy graphics. It's almost like it is talking to you subliminally into buying the product when you know deep down inside, it most likely won't work. At last, you buy it anyway because your wishfulthinking and desperation have gotten the best of you. You hope that THIS time around, it might actually be the ONE thing you need to help you with your marketing and online success.Of course, not everyone is just out to make a fast buck with their empty promises, incomplete directions, things that won't work, outright lies, complete misdirection, and their so-called secrets. There are still some of us who happen to value good business ethics, morals, and biblical principles.As a Christian marketer, this type of marketing tactic anger me.It angers me because these seasoned marketers are preying upon one of the most vulnerable classes of people online, the beginners or newbies. Most newcomers to the online world are desperate and want to get rich, so they make themselves an easy target simply because they don't know any better.Shady marketers and high-level gurus who should know better are taking advantage of these newbies by using their marketing skills and tapping into the psychological and emotional triggers of others to cause them to buy. Such marketing tactics are not evil in itself, but when you outright lie to get the sale and then turn around to teach others to do the same, now that just isn't right.Beginners usually want to make money so bad, that if someone says "just buy my product or system and it will make you rich", and even if they know deep down inside those instant riches is just a dream, they will most likely buy it anyway. Why? Because just like you and me, we think it will be different this time around and we hope for the best. This is called wishful thinking.By the way, this very tactic works at various price points too. How do I know? When I first got started online (and sometimes I still fall for it, even to this day!), I bought a number of products and programs that just didn't live up to what they promised ranging from $2 to $2,000. And quite honestly, these marketers aren't going anywhere. As long as people keep buying, they will keep on getting richer through their lies and deception.So what is the solution for you?Are you going to continue to spin your wheels and get nowhere fast or are you going to try to find someone who can tell you the truth? You need to find someone who won't lie to you and won't give you empty promises such as, "you can get rich in 3clicks!" or "follow my 3 step formula for instant riches!" By the way, have heard of the 3 step formula?1) Find a niche and a need2) Target people in that niche3) Sell them what they needSounds pretty simple right? And to be honest, that is the formula, but have you tried to implement those 3 steps? It's not as easy as the marketer make out to be right? And by the way, if you decide to get what I happen to recommend as an affiliate marketer, it won't be easy either. Making money online is not magic; it takes WORK just like any other job.So, why do so many of us fall for the same old lies?Let's do a quick survey, which "call to action" would you most likely respond to?*."Make 1 million dollars in 60 days or less, guaranteed!"*."Work hard for one year, learn the foundational basics, find your passion, voice and purpose, and then you MIGHT make $100k by next year"The first one is obviously a lie, but many more people will respond and buy from #1 and not #2 simply because for some reason, people like to respond to this type of "call to action".And the truth of the matter is, the primary purpose of the person writing the sales copy or letter is to get you to buy because without sales, there's no income. As a Christian Marketer, I'm no different. My job is to present to my prospect good products and make it appealing so you can buy from me.
