Everybody stresses, gets anxious and concerned, feels certain reasons for alarm, and encounters fears. To a certain extent, this is normal and also healthy as it gives the body time to respond to changes and also allows time to get healthy faster. For whatever length of time that the inclination is, in respect to the panic attack circumstance or other issues, this is usually typical. Be that as it may, when tension gets serious and happens on a regular basis you may be experiencing anxiety and do not even realize it.Normal symptoms of a panic attack may include:1. The fear of going insane - When under this hugeweight, a person might feel that they are going insane. This, on the other hand, is more clear with a panic attack, yet rest assured that you are not going insane. This is on account of going insane is not a cognizant demonstration; individuals who are experiencing emotional instabilities don'teven realize that they are having one. Once more, ifit happens that you are encountering a more than normal amount of apprehension, you are not going insane.2. Dry mouth - This is a characteristic event amid uneasiness in panic attacks as liquids are redirected to different parts of the body. To counterdry mouth, taste water or ice cubes or sweets to empower the generation of salivation. In some serious cases, specialists may recommend you with a fluid IV.3. Shaking and shuddering - These two are fundamental elements of the body as it continuallytries to keep the body temperature normal. At the point when the body temperature drops from normal, the muscles convulsively contract, creating friction in the middle of muscles and body tissues, hence expanding the body temperature. With panic attacks assaults, shaking and shuddering are ordinary.4. Heart palpitation - Is the inclination that the heart is missing a beat is brought on by the arrivalof adrenaline into the circulatory system amid an assault. This is fairly common and can't hurt you in any capacity. Notwithstanding, it can make you uncomfortable.5. Body pain - Many people experience neck, shoulder, jaw, mouth and stomach pain, and may also headaches or migraines. At the point when the body is under anxiety, parts of the body typically get tensed, which can result in a painful experience.6. Chest pain - This is a typical body response to the anxiety associated with the panic attack on account of muscle strain on the body. Now and then, strain on the chest area is confused as a heart attack, however it is essential to recognize that these can be different from each other as the last can be fatal.7. Shortness of breath - This can be the most upsetting side effect of a panic attack as it practically feels that your lungs cannot get enough of the oxygen that your body to desperately needs. Once in a while, it feels that somebody is pushing a cover over your face. Three critical points to recall are that you won't suffocate, quit breathing or go out.8. Feeling out of sorts - One of the side effects of a panic attacks is the way you see yourself or see reality. It can make you feel that everything aroundyou is similar to a fantasy, foggy and unreal.Realizing the side effects of a panic attack and the nervousness associated with it does not need you to comprehend the physiology of the human body. What is required is your mindfulness on the most common effects and the risk they have when overlooked. Most individuals have many different ways to cope with panic attacks. While most of us simply want to get it over with, the idea of beating it altogether is more important. What's more, since the expression "nervousness issue" is instituted to a generalization of similar conditions instead of a solitary issue, side effects might change with each tension assault. It is vital, in this manner, to counsel a health care professional if this an ongoing issue. Cotton market: Prices rise on tight supplies at first
Prices managed to recover on the cotton market on Friday (first session of 2016) in the process of tight supplies, dealers said. The official spot rate was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 5,250, dealers said. Some brokers said that supply position is tight ahead of the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) fortnightly report within a couple of day.Cotton analyst, Naseem Usman commenting on the size of current production said that arrival may be lower-than-expected, this is basic factor behind the current increase in rates.Reuters adds: Benchmark cotton prices on ICE Futures US settled down 0.69 cent, or 1 percent, at 63.28 cents per lb on Thursday, but the second-month contract ended the year up 5 percent. The slight gain came as benchmark prices recovered from a 6-1/2-year low struck early in the year on weak demand, competition from synthetic fibres, and huge supplies.World inventories have swelled due to a government stockpiling program that lifted prices and kept farmers planting even as demand flagged. The following deals reported: 800 bales of cotton from Shahdadpur (Low quality) at Rs 4200, 224 bales from Nousher Feroze at Rs 5270, 400 bales from Chistian at Rs 5285, 400 bales from Vehari atRs 5500, 600 bales from Mianwali at Rs 5500-5625, 400 bales from Alipur at Rs 5600, 600bales from Yazman Mandi at Rs 5700 and 1200 bales from Sadiqabad at Rs 5700, dealers said.===========================================================================The KCA Official Spot Rate for Local Dealings in Pakistan Rupees---------------------------------------------------------------------------FOR BASE GRADE 3 STAPLE LENGTH 1-1/32"---------------------------------------------------------------------------MICRONAIRE VALUE BETWEEN 3.8 TO 4.9 NCL===========================================================================Rate Ex-Gin Upcountry Spot Rate Spot Rate DifferenceFor Price Ex-Karachi Ex. Experts concerned over rapid deforestation
Environmental and forest experts expressed yesterday their concern over rapid deforestation which is going on at a ratio of 27,000 hectares per year across the country.According to official data, Pakistan has total forestcover of 4.4 million hectares, and the current rate of deforestation is 27,000 hectares per year. It says 53,000 Pakistanis are directly employed in the forestry sector, while the country has 213 million metric tonnes of carbon stocks in living forest biomass.Chairman Department of Forestary, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi Professor Dr Mirza Sarwat Naz Beg told APP that timber mafias, clearing of land for developmental projects burning of wood as fuel could be the main reasons for deforestation across the country. The main drivers are the country’s growing population and the associated demand for wood, as well as weak governance and land encroachments, Dr Sarwat added.Dr Kashif Salik researcher at Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) said that according to UNESCO’s International Coordinating Council of the Man and the Biosphere Programme, Pakistan’s juniper forest isbelieved to be the world’s second largest such reserve.Meanwhile, he said that clearing of Juniper forest or trees was alarming as these were replaced by orchards, he added. To a query Salik said that It is illegal to cut down juniper, whether the land is publicly or privately owned. However he said that comprehensive data or estimation of the amount of juniper forest beingcleared each year, was not available he said. “The problems facing the forest are ecological and environmental as well as economic” he said.Fakhar-e-Abbas, a scientist at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, says juniper trees are being infected with fungus and bacteria due to inbreeding.“The trees are located in an isolated place and fastlosing their genetic diversity,” he said. It is important to strengthen the trees’ immunity to protect them from diseases and the negative effects of climate change, he added.“We are working on a plan to exchange some treeswith central Asian states to ensure cross-breedingin the forest,” he said.Khudai Rahim Ejbani, a forest official said that that people are chopping down the trees and using forest land for agriculture and orchards, even though the government tries to stop them. The government was serious and concerned about the rapid deforestation, however was making comprehensive policy to stop further degradation of the public private sector forests. “If there had been no threat to people from government officials, they would have denuded the whole forest land in six months,” he said.Nonetheless, Ejbani acknowledged that some forest officials are also involved in cutting down trees. “We have underlined a policy to suspend any of forest officials who will be involved in bribe-taking and dereliction of duty,” he said. The government plans to strengthen forestry laws, Ejbani added. In Pakistan, he said the forest can besaved only if the government provides jobs for local people residing in the forests’ areas, he said.“The trees may be an asset for the government andinternational organisations, but for the locals theyare (just) a source of livelihood,” he said.News SourceNews Collated byPAKISSAN.com
Before Prophethood
MAKKAH AND THE QURAYSH:After a long journey, Ibrahim (Alayhissalam) approached Makkah, which lies in a valley between desolate mountains. As there was no water, crops could not grow and human lifecould not be sustained there. Accompanied by his wife Hajar and his son Isma’il, Ibrahim was fleeing from the cult of idol-worship which had spread throughout the world. Hewanted to establish a centre in whichAllah alone would be worshipped and to which people could be called. It would be a beacon of guidance and a sanctuary of peace, radiating true faith and righteousness.Allah accepted Ibrahim’s intention and blessed the spot. After Ibrahim had left the inhospitable territory, water flowed from a spring to provide his small family with the means to survive. Hajar and Isma’il dwelt in this arid place far away fromother people. Allah blessed the spring of Zamzam and, to this day, people continue to drink its water and to take it with them to all corners of the globe. While Isma’il was growing up, Ibrahim visited his family. He wantedto sacrifice Isma’il, who was still only a child, in order to show that his love of Allah was greater than his love for his son, just as Allah had commanded him to in a dream. Isma’il also agreed to Allah’s command that he should be sacrificed. But Allah saved him and provided a ram from Paradise as a ransom to be sacrificed instead. Isma’ils survival meant that he would be able to help his father in calling people to Allah and to become the ancestor of the last Prophet of Allah, His exalted Messenger. On a later visit to Makkah, Ibrahim and his son together constructed the Ka’bah, the House of Allah. They prayed to Allah to accept the House and to bless their action. They also beseeched Allah to allow them to live and die in Islam and for Islam to continue after their death. They asked Allah to send a Prophet from among their descendants to renew the call of his ancestor Ibrahim and to complete what he had begun.‘When Ibrahim and Isma’il raised thefoundations of the House, praying, “Our Lord, accept this from us. You are the Hearing, the Knowing. Our Lord, and make us surrender to You, and make of our descendants a nation that surrenders to You. Show us our rites and turn to us, You are the One who turns, the Compassionate. Our Lord, and send among them a Messenger from among them who will recite to them Your signs and teach them the Book and the Wisdom and purify them. You are the Mighty, the Wise. ” ‘ (2: 129-9Allah blessed their descendants and the family multiplied in that barren valley. Adnan, a descendant of Isma’il (peace be upon him) had many children. Among Adnan’s descendants Fihr ibn Malik, in particular, was a distinguished chief of the tribe. From Fihr’s descendants Qusayy ibn Kilab emerged. He ruled Makkah and held the keys to the Ka’bah. He inspired obedience, was the guardian of the waters of Zamzam and was responsible for feeding the pilgrims. He also presided at the assemblies where the nobles of Makkah gathered for consultation and he held the banner for war. He alone controlled the affairs of Makkah.Among his sons Abd Manaf was the most illustrious, while his eldest son, Hashim became a great man of the people. He provided food and water for the pilgrims coming to Makkah. He was the father of Abdul-Muttalib, the Messenger of Allah’s grandfather, who was also in charge of feeding and giving water to the pilgrims. He was honoured and held in high esteem by his people and his popularity outstripped that of his ancestors. His people loved him.The descendants of Fihr ibn Malik were called Quraysh. This name came to predominate over all others and the tribe adopted it. All the Arabs recognised the excellent lineage and nobility of the Quraysh. Their eloquence, civility, gallantry and high mindedness were unanimously accepted.IDOL WORSHIP IN MAKKAH:The Quraysh continued to hold to the religion of Ibrahim and Isma’il, glorifying the creed of tawhid and theworship of Allah alone, until Amr ibn Luhayy became their chief. He was the first to deviate from the religion ofIsma’il and to set up idols which he encouraged people to worship. Once he had travelled from Makkah to Syria on business where he saw people worshipping idols. He was soimpressed that he brought some idols back to Makkah and set them up, commanding the people there to venerate them.Traditionally some people would take a few stones from the Haram, thesanctuary, with them when they travelled from Makkah as a token of respect for the holy spot. This led to the day when they began to worship any stones they liked. Later generations lost track of the reasons why stones were originally veneratedand the Quraysh were happy to worship stone idols just like the people were doing in surrounding countries.THE EVENT OF THE ELEPHANT:During this period a significant eventtook place which portended another happening of even greater importance. It meant that Allah desired a better future for the Arabs and that the Ka’bah would take on animportance never before attained by any place of worship anywhere in theworld.Abrahah al-Ashram, the viceroy of Negus, the King of Abyssinia, who ruled over the Yemen, built an imposing cathedral in San’a’ and named it ‘al-Qullays’. He intended to divert the Arab pilgrimage to San’a’. As a Christian, he was jealous that the Ka’bah should be the place wherepilgrims gathered and he wanted this position for his church. The Arabs were stunned by the news. They could not equate any other place with the love and respect they had for the Ka’bah. They could not contemplate exchanging it for any other house of worship. They were preoccupied with the news and discussed it endlessly. An Arab daredevil from the Kinanah tribe went so far as to enter the cathedral and defecate in it. Abrahah was furious when he heard about it and swore that he would not rest until he had destroyed the Ka’bah. He set out for Makkah with a strong force that included elephants. The Arabs had heard some frightening stories about elephants. They were both distressed and alarmed. Although they wanted to obstruct the progress of Abrahah’s army, they realised that they lacked the power tofight him. They could only leave the matter to Allah and trust to the fact that He was the Lord of the Ka’bah and would protect it. This trust is amply demonstrated by a conversation between Abrahah and the leader of the Quraysh, Abdul-Muttalib, the grandfather of the Prophet. Abrahah had seized two hundred camels of his, so Abdul-Muttalib sought permission to see him. Abrahah treated him with respect, descended from his throne and sat down beside him. When Abrahah asked what he wanted, Abdul-Muttalib replied, ‘I want you to return my two hundred camels.’Abrahah was taken by surprise. He asked, ‘Do you wish to speak to me about your two hundred camels that I have taken but say nothing about the House on which your religion and that of your forefathers depends I have come to destroy it, yet you do not speak to me about it!’Abdul-Muttalib replied, ‘I am the owner of the camels. The House also has an Owner. He will defend ‘It will not be defended against me,’ retortedAbrahah. ‘That remains to be seen,’ said Abdul-Muttalib.As Abrahah’s force drew near, the Quraysh hid high up in the mountains and down in the ravines. They feared the army’s approach and waited to see how Allah would save the sacred sanctuary. Abdul-Muttalib stood with a group of Quraysh and took hold of the door of the Ka’bah, imploring Allah to help them against Abrahah and his army.Abrahah drew up his soldiers to enter Makkah fully intending to destroy the House. His elephant, whose name was Mahmud, was prepared for the attack. However, the elephant knelt down on the road and refused to get up in spite of severe beatings. When they turned it to face Yemen it got up immediately and moved off.Allah then sent flocks of birds from the sea; each bird carried stones in its claws. Whenever a stone struck one of Abrahah’s soldiers it killed him. The Abyssinians fled in terror, rushing back as the stones hit them. Abrahah was badly hurt. When his soldiers tried to take him with them, his limbs fell off one by one. They took him
The Age of Ignorance
ANCIENT RELIGIONS:After the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) of Allah, Isa ibn Maryam, there was a long period without a Prophet. Light and knowledge disappeared. Christianity fell into disrepute and became a matter of sport for the corrupt and the hypocrites. From the very beginning, Christianity had been subjected to alterations by extremists and to interpretations by the ignorant. The simple teaching of the Messiah was buried beneath the transgressors’ evil behaviour. The Jews had become a society obsessed with rites and rules lackingall life and spirit. Apart from that, Judaism a tribal religion, did not carry a message to the world nor a summons to other nations nor mercyto humanity at large. The Magians were devoted to fire-worship. They built altars and shrines to fire. Outside the shrines they followed their own pursuits. Eventually, no difference whatever could be discerned between the Magians and those with no religion or morality.Buddhism, a religion widespread in India and Central Asia, was transformed into outright paganism.Altars were built and images of the Buddha set up wherever it went.Hinduism, the basic religion of India, is distinguished by its millions of idols and gods, and by the unjust separation that exists between its castes, discrimination between the castes being a harsh reality of daily life. The Arabs also suffered from a paganism and idol-worship of the most abhorrent kind that had no parallel, even in pagan Hindu India. They were involved in shirk and adopted gods other than Allah. Every tribe, region or city had a particular idol. Indeed, every house had a private idol. Inside the Ka’bah, the house which Ibrahim (peace be uponhim) had built for the worship of Allah alone, and in its courtyard, stood three hundred and sixty idols.THE ARABIAN PENINSULA:The morals of the Arabs were corrupted and they were obsessed with drinking and gambling. Their cruelty and so-called zeal reached the point where they buried baby girls alive. Raiding was widespread as well as highway robbery against trading caravans. The position of women in society was so low that they could be inherited like property or animals. Children were murdered because their parents feared the poverty that would come from raising them. The Arabs were fond of war and did not hesitate to shed blood. A minor incident could stir up a war lasting for many years in which thousands of people would lose their lives.CORRUPTION:In short, at this time, mankind was ona suicidal course. Man had forgottenhis Creator and was oblivious of himself, his future, and his destiny. He had lost the ability to distinguish between good and evil, and what is beautiful and what is ugly. Throughout vast regions no one was concerned with religion at all and no one worshipped his Lord without associating something with Him. Allah Almighty spoke the truth when He said: ‘Corruption has appeared inthe land and sea through what the hands of People have earned, that He may let them taste some part of that which they have done, that perhaps they will return.’ (30:41)THE PROPHET(SALLALLAHU ALAIYHI WASSALLAM) IS SENT TO THE ARABIAN PENINSULA:Allah chose the Arabs to receive the call of Islam and to convey it to the furthest corners of the world. These people were simple-hearted with no complicated ideologies which wouldhave been difficult to remove. While the Greeks, Persians and people of India were arrogant about their many sciences, their fine literature and their splendid civilisation, the Arabs followed only simple traditions related to their desert existence. It was not difficult to sweep these away and replace them with a fresh vision. The Arabs were in a natural state. When it was difficult for them to grasp the truth, they fought it. However, when the covering was removed from their eyes, they welcomed the new beginning and, having embraced it, would risk their lives for it. They were honest and trustworthy, hardy, courageous and fine horsemen. They also possessed a will of iron.In Makkah, a city in the Arabian peninsula, was the Ka’bah which had been built by Ibrahim and Isma’il (peace be upon them). In it, Allah alone was to be worshipped and it was to be a centre for calling people to tawhid for all time. Tawhid, meaning the Oneness of Allah, is in sharp contrast with the worship of idols. The first house established for people was that at Bakkah, a blessed place and a guidance for the worlds. (3:97)
After Hajj
How fortunate are these souls who are blessed with the following words from Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam:“Whoever performs Hajj for the Pleasure of Allah and therein utters no word of evil, nor commits any evil deed, shall return from it (free from sin) as the day on which his mother gave birth to him.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)“Verily there shall be no reward for a Mabroor Hajj except Jannah.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)It is hoped that all the pilgrims were sincere in their intentions and had traveled thousands of miles only to secure the Pleasure of Allah by fulfilling the obligation laid down upon them. May Allah the Almighty grant all the pilgrims acceptance and grant them opportunity again and again to visit the Sacred bud. Aameen.Nevertheless, we wish to draw the attention of the pilgrims towards certain points which are necessary and of utmost importance to observe and for which many pilgrims are seen neglectful of their significance.1, the sincerity of intention should remain even after the performance of Hajj. There should be no pomp or show. One should not wish to be called or recognized as a Haajee. Many people adopt the habit of talking frequently about their journeyin order that people may come to know of their Hajj. They talk about the expenses incurred in the way of Allah, their charity amongst the poor and needy, their devotion and worship, their assisting the weak andold, etc.; and all is mentioned only with the intention of gaining fame. This is a deceit from Shaytaan who ruins the ibaadat without the person even knowing. It is therefore of great importance that the pilgrim does not talk about his Hajj without necessity as it may lead to ‘Riyaa’ (show, insincerity). However, if necessity arises and one must talk about his Hajj then he is at liberty to do so. But, he must not indulge in this type of conversation unnecessarily.2, it is noted through experience, that many pilgrims return with only the bad side of the journey and make it a habit of talking about nothing except the hardships they have encountered during Hajj. The pilgrims should strictly refrain from this. On the contrary they should talk about the greatness of the sacred places, the spiritual gains, the enjoyment in devotions of Haramayn – Umrah, Tawaaf, Salaam on the Sacred Grave, Salaat in Masjid-ul-Haraam and Masjid-un-Nabawi etc. If one looks at his journey of Hajj carefully he will find that the good things far outweighs the bad. Every second spent in these sacred places is incomparable with anything in the world. The journey of Hajj is a long journey; one has to travel by air, pass the immigrations, go through the customs, encounter people who speak foreign languages, etc. In these circumstances, difficulties are certain to arise. when we travel in our country do we always travel with comfort and ease? Do we never encounter difficulty? Do we not find ourselves held up in traffic for hours on a Motorway? Considering the fact that 2 – 3 million pilgrims perform the rituals of Hajj at one time, in one place and that they all come from different countries and backgrounds and that many of them have never before used or seen the facilities available to them. We think the difficulties encountered are insignificant. Moreover, the pilgrims are rewarded abundantly by Allah Ta’aala upon every difficulty encountered in their journey whereasthe same is not the case whilst we areon another journey. Those people who engage in these types of conversation become the cause of discouragement to others who have not yet had the opportunityto perform Hajj. These unfortunate pilgrims fall into the category … and who stop (men) from the way of Allah, and from the Sacred Masjid, … mentioned in Surah Hajj in the Qur’aan. They should take heed that if people are discouraged by their conversation and postpone their Hajjthen those who have discouraged them will be equally responsible.3, the sign of a ‘Mabroor Hajj’ or an ‘accepted Hajj’ is that upon one’s return, his life changes from worst to good. He becomes totally punctual infulfilling the commands of Allah Ta’aala. His love and inclination towards the Hereafter increases and love for the worldly pleasures decline. Therefore, it is essential that the pilgrim is watchful over his actions and should try his utmost to instill in himself good characters and refrain from all types of evil. He should try his best to fulfill the obligations laid down by Allah and avoid all the things forbidden by Him.Source:Sunnah Organisation
The First Ten days of Dhul Hijjah
Shaykh Maulana Saleem DhoratThe first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are full of virtues and great blessings. According to a large group of mufassireen (commentators of the Qur’aan), the ten nights mentioned inSoorah Al Fajr are the nights of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Allah says:By the Dawn; By the ten Nights;(89:1-2)This oath substantiates the greatness and sacredness of these ten nights in the eyes of Allah. This is an extra ordinary oath; it is very reliable and significant and the wise men can understand that by this oath, Allah too attaches great importance and value to the ten nights of Dhul Hijjah. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam too, has clearly mentionedthe importance and the virtue of these blessed moments. It is reportedby Abdullah Ibne Abbaas radhiyallahu anhuma that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijjah).” Thereupon, some companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, “Not even Jihaad ? ” He replied, “Not even jihaad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah’s sake) and does not return with any of these things.”Bukhaari V1 pp132In another Hadeeth reported by Aboo Hurayrah radhiyallahu anhu, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, “On no days is the worship of Allah desired more than in the (first) ten days of Dhul Hijjah. The fast of each of these days is equal to the fast of a whole year, and the worship of each of these nights is equal to the worship of Laylatul Qadr.”Tirmizi V1 pp58Moreover, what other virtue can be greater for these blessed days than the fact that certain specific devotions cannot be performed but in these specified days. Allah Almighty has specifically chosen these days for the fulfilment of two of the most important devotions, viz. Hajj and Qurbaani. One may argue and say that there areother forms of devotions too, which are fixed to specific days and moments; hence what is the speciality of these particular days ? The answer to this argument is simple. Although there are other devotions too, which are also fixed tospecific time, such as fasting in the month of Ramadhaan; but one may, if he desires, fulfil the devotion of fasting in days other than Ramadhaan i.e. as an optional devotion. On the contrary, the wuqoof of Arafaat (which is the essence of Hajj), the wuqoof of Muzdalifah, etc., cannot be performed but in these specified days.If one was to remain in Arafaat for many months after the 9th Dhul Hijjah, he will not receive any reward whatsoever and it will never be considered an act of ibaadah.Similarly, Qurbaani is performed only in three days one of which is 10th Dhul Hijjah. There is no possibility whatsoever of a nafl Qurbaani once these days have lapsed, so much so that qazaa Hajj or qazaa Qurbaani is not even possible. It is because of these distinguishing characteristics that the ulamaa have stated, in the light ofQur’aan and Hadeeth that after the days of the month of Ramadhaan, thegreatest days in virtue are the first tendays of Dhul Hijjah. The reward of ibaadah in these days increases abundantly and the resultsare honoured with specified blessings and mercies by the Creator.ACTS OF VIRTUEThere are certain specific acts of virtue in these blessed days of Dhul Hijjah which are enumerated and explained below:1. Upon sighting the moon of Dhul Hijjah, those people intending to perform Qurbaani should neither cut their hair nor clip their nails until the Qurbaani is performed. This is a mustahab (desirable) act derived from Hadeeth of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam wherein he has said:“A person should neither clip his nails nor cut his hair until he performs qurbaani”.Ibne MaajahSome ulamaa have explained the reason and wisdom behind this order of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam thus that in this month, hundreds of thousands of people are blessed with the opportunity of visiting the sacred house of Allah in Makkah. They enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the holy places and acquire maximum benefit from the blessed moments.Whilst they are there in the state of ihraam certain acts become impermissible for them. Amongst them is clipping of nails and cutting the hair. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam instructed those of his followers who could not reach the blessed places, to imitate the pilgrims by not cutting the hair and clipping the nails so that the mercy ofAllah can enshroud them too together with the pilgrims.2. These days are so blessed that a day’s fast is equivalent to a year’s fast and a night’s devotion is equivalent to the ibaadah of Laylatul Qadr. The indication is towards the fact that we should endeavor to perform as many virtuous acts as possible in these days.3. 9th Dhul Hijjah is theday of Arafahin which the main fardh of Hajj is performed i.e. wuqoof Arafah. This isa great moment for the pilgrims when the Mercy of Allah descends upon them in abundance and their sins are forgiven and du’aa accepted. Allah, through His Compassion and Mercy, has not deprived the non-pilgrims of his mercy, but rather, shown the way to His Pleasure. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam was asked about the fast of the day of Arafah. He said, “It compensates for the (minor) sins of the past and the coming year.”Ibne MaajahNote: One should take note that the sins forgiven are minor sins. The major sins are not forgiven without tawbah.4. The reciting of Takbeeraate Tashreeq after every fardh Salaat from the Fajr of 9th Dhul Hijjah to the Asr of 13th Dhul Hijjah (i.e. total of twenty three fardh Salaat). It is waajib upon men to recite this takbeer once after every fardh Salaat audibly. The women should recite it silently.5. The Sunnah of Ibraahem alayhi salaam – the Qurbaani. It is to be performed on 10th, 11th or 12th DhulHijjah. One may sacrifice a thousandanimals on days other than these, but it will never be regarded or considered a Qurbaani. Here, a believer is taught a great lesson that an action or a place or a time does not hold any virtue in itself;but rather it is Allah’s command and order that changes the status, level and grade of things. Regarding Qurbaani, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said:“There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of Qurbaani than the sacrificing of animals. The sacrificedanimal shall come on the Day of Judgement with its horn, hair, and hooves (to be weighed). The sacrifice is accepted by Allah before the blood reaches the ground. Therefore sacrifice with an open and happy heart.”Tirmizi V1 pp275, Ibne Maajah V1 pp226May Allah ta’aalaa bless us with spiritual gains and His Pleasure in these blessed moments. Different TV and Radio programs are also produced by the directorate. After the tea technical session was started. Different speaker participated & shared their views.Dr. Khalid Shouq chief editor Veterinary News andViews and representative of Pakissan Pvt. Ltd. andZarari Media told about the e-agriculture. He saidthat there is a flood of information everywhere and the users get confused. Trustworthiness & reliability of information is another issue. System of monitoring is needed to develop to scrutinize the information available available on different resources (such as www, print media etc.). Wrong and/or less-credible information can easily misguide the poor farmers. He emphasized that the government sector should take necessary steps to win the confidence and trust of farmers. He suggested that UAF must take the lead in monitoring and evaluation of agricultural information available in the internet.Lack of liaison and coordination between differentorganizations was also highlighted by Dr. Shouq. He also suggested that UAF should communicate technical information to the media in addition to the coverage of their day-to-day event (seminars, workshops etc.).Mr. Muhammad Hanif, representative of Pakissan Pvt. Ltd. said that their website is the largest agricultural website of Pakistan since 2001. He said that agricultural technologies are easily available in rural areas. Majority of the farmers are illiterate and they cannot make use of sophisticated technology, for instance many farmer can`t easily operate their cell phones; however in some areas of Punjab few farmers are using the latest technology. Mostly developing courtiers take the knowledge from the developed countries & follow them but some countries like India have developed the system of integrating extension system with agricultural universities. Similarly many African farmers are using ICT. Universities in the developed countries don`t grantthe degrees to their students unless they acquire practical experience through outreach and extension activities. Our cultural norm & values are changing due to internet. He said that there is no need to blindly follow the information available on different web resources. Extension & Rural Development UAF said that he did his PhD research on the use of media in agricultural information dissemination. He said that farmer has potential and they are interested to use the ICT. Information is there available but the question is that who will use the information & why he will act upon the advice if he don`t see any worth of that information. We told the farmer about the application of input i.e. fertilizer but the situation is that inputs (fertilizer, seed, and pesticides) are not accessible (affordable) to the small farmers. Marketing problem is also prominent as middlemen exploit the farmers.Mr. Muhammad Hanif responded that number of agricultural articles & news are available every where but there is shortage of research based articles.
