July-April pulses import up by 51 percent

The country's pulses import soared to $485.055 million in July-April 2015-16, up by huge 51 percent, official figures say.The pulses import bill rise stands at $163.035 million in July-April 2015-16 as compared to the commodity's import of $322.020 million in July-April 2014-15, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.Pulses import volume surged by 55.13 percent or 241, 245 metric tons to 760,300 metric tons in July-April 2015-16 from519,055 metric tons in July-April 2014-15.In April 2016, the country's pulses import mounted to$40.669 million from $37.594 million in April 2015, up by 8.18 percent or $3.075 million.In term of quantity, pulses import also grew by 11.24 percent or 6107 metric tons to 60,457 metric tons in April 2016 from 54,350 metric tons in April 2015.News SourceNews Collated byPAKISSAN.comCourtesy Business Recorder
