Seedless kinnow to be cultivated over 30,000 acres

Agriculture department has decided to cultivate seedless 'kinnow' over 30,000 acres of land in Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Layyah and Vehari districts to export it in global markets.A spokesman of the Agriculture department said here on Tuesday that initially more than 1,000 saplings of seedless kinnow would be prepared in the nurseries of the Agriculture department and these would be provided to the growers of Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Layyah and Vehari for their plantation.He said the Agriculture scientists had developed a seedless kinnow variety "AARI-2016" which was not only disease resistant but it had best taste and high quantity of juice.The seedless kinnow was liked very much across the globe whereas its demand was at top in America, Germany, Russia, England, Australia, China, New Zealand,, Holland, Philippine, he added.News SourceNews Collated byPAKISSAN.com
