My ideal scenario is coming home after a long day at work and just relaxing for the night. I do not want to worry about what to make for dinner or waste a lot of time in the kitchen cooking. I just want to drink a glass a wine and cook a simple, yet delicious home-cooked meal. Most of all, I do not want to resort to simple solutions such as getting takeout every night. How great would it be to know what you are going to make for dinner and that it will be a simple, yet delicious home-cooked meal? For some, this scenario may not seem possible, but believe me, it is.It is not difficult to make home-cooked meals during a busy work week. All you need is a few go-to recipes that are simple, yet delicious. What makes them simple, you ask? The fact that the recipes only have 5 ingredients or less! I have several go-to 5 ingredient or less recipes that I prepare during the busy work week. I would like to share a few of those with you:5 Ingredient (or less) Recipes:BAKED SALMON: (Total ingredients: 3-4)INGREDIENTS:*.1 6-oz Salmon*.Drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil*.Salt*.Pepper and other spices (Optional)PREPARATION: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. While you are waiting for the oven to warm, prepare the glass casserole dish by lining it with aluminum foil or spraying a non-stick spray. Next, prepare the salmon by drizzling it with extra virginolive oil on both sides. Then, add the salt and your favorite spices. I usually omit the spices and just use salt and pepper. I don't like to add a lot of spices to seafood as I don't want the spices to overpower the fish. If you like to add more spices or herbs, you can use some Thyme, Rosemary, or whatever spices or herbs you have on hand. Once the salmon is prepared, place it in the glass casserole dish, pop it in the oven and it will be ready in 20 minutes! It's that easy!RIBEYE STEAK: (Total ingredients: 2)INGREDIENTS:*.1 Ribeye Steak*.Steak SeasoningPREPARATION: Get your grill ready! Make sure all your side dishes are prepared first because this steak will be ready in no time! All you do is season your steak on both sides, put it on the grill and cook it for just a few minutes per side! That's how easy it is! Cook time will vary depending on the thickness of the steak and whether you like your steak rare, medium or well done.SAUSAGE, PEPPERS & ONIONS: (Total Ingredients: 5)INGREDIENTS:*.1 lb Sausage*.1 Green Bell Pepper*.1 Medium Onion*.1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil*.Salt (Optional)PREPARATION: Preheat the skillet over medium heat. While you are waiting for the skillet to warm, slice the peppers and onions. You can also slice the sausage into 1-inch pieces or keep it as-is. Once the skillet is warm, add a tablespoon of cooking oil, then add the green bell peppers and onions. Cook the green bell peppers and onions for about 5 minutes on medium to high heat, then add the sausage. Cook for another 5 minutes and your meal is done!If you are looking for more 5 ingredient (or less) recipes, visithttp://www.mealplan4me.com.
